Our services for banks
SMEBOTS (http://www.smebots.com/) is conducting a study on behalf of IFC to understand the current level of finance and general practices in cash credit and pure movable asset based financing. It is a well-accepted reality that timely access to finance is critical for the growth of MSME sector. While empirical studies suggest that 70% of assets of MSMEs are movable assets such as inventory, receivables, plant & machinery, etc. the lending against movable collateral to MSME sector is rather very limited in India, as often the same is linked to availability of acceptable collateral security to the banks. Also, the credit made available to MSMEs is often based on movable assets and financials of the past and not necessarily linked to future prospects. It is however possible to put the movable assets like receivables and plant and machinery to more productive use by adopting reformed secured transactions framework and a proper comprehensive collateral registry.
As part of this IFC Study, SMEBOTS is reaching out to MSMEs to get more nuanced information related to their experience of Bank finance, particularly cash credit product and movable asset-based finance and their views on the challenges faced. We therefore, request you to kindly provide your valuable feedback. We assure you that all details given by you will be kept confidential and would be used only for the study.
